The most interesting Pokemon game of the summer is a Stardew Valley mod, and the reason it works is that it barely tries to be a Pokemon game at all.
Pokemon Eggventure is a free fan mod for the PC version of Stardew Valley, not an official update from ConcernedApe. Parme69 launched it in July 2026 with the original 151 species from Red and Blue. Version 2.0 pushed that past 600 species across all nine generations, and the Day Care update landed on August 1. Three weeks, one modder, a full Pokedex on a farm.
What It Actually Adds
The pitch sounds like a total conversion. It is not. Almost everything in Eggventure is Stardew's existing farm loop pointed at a different collection:
| Pokemon idea | What Stardew already had |
|---|---|
| Finding eggs in the wild | Forage, mining and fishing drop tables |
| Hatching | The craftable incubator, unlocked with a coop or barn |
| Raising a creature | Three growth stages from baby to adult |
